Guild Employee Spotlight – Crystal Williams
Interviewer: What is your position?
Crystal Williams: I joined the Guild team in September as a Loan Officer. I help potential home buyers and realtors with clients to get pre-approved to purchase homes.
I: How did you get into the lending business?
CW: My husband is a realtor and one day, he presented the idea, that I go into lending so that we could work together to get clients into their homes! With my background in property management and banking, I thought it was a fitting role. Now my husband and I are a team at home and in the work place!
I: When you transitioned to Guild, was there anything that surprised you about the company?
CW: I was happily surprised with the family-oriented feel. From corporate down to our individual office, there are many programs set in place to make it feel like we’re all a team working toward a common goal. This is different than my previous work environments, so you can imagine how refreshing this is! There are many resources that not only help you grow but give you the tools to help you get there. Guild is about personal and professional development, which is encouraging for its employees and makes it easy for employees to plan their future with this company.
I: What are some of your goals in the coming years?
CW: Since I’ve only been in my position for a few months, my goal is to continue fostering relationships, work on producing higher volume, and consistently learn every day. Right now, I’m in the CORE coaching program with Michael Fornerette. Through CORE, the goal is to be more knowledgeable and become a master at using the tools Guild offers. I believe that knowledge is what separates good loan officers from great loan officers. The housing market guidelines change all the time and you don’t always complete the same loan every time, so it’s my job to educate the buyer and figure out what the best solution for them.
I: What do you like to do outside of work?
CW: I love spending time with my family. My husband and I have 5 kids, so weekends are spent at sporting events, driving them to various places and just having fun! We also recently just purchased a home in North Tacoma that we are currently renovating and so far it’s been a fun ongoing project. Additionally, we love football! We try to make it to one Seahawks game a year.
