Guild Employee Spotlight: Lindsey Baker

Guild Employee Spotlight: Lindsey Baker

Guild Tacoma Branch will be spotlighting one employee every month to talk about their position, passions, and hobbies. This month’s spotlight employee is Lindsey Baker.

Interviewer: What is your role?

Lindsey Baker: I am a loan officer. My business partner and I lead a team here at the Guild Tacoma Branch. I specialize in going out into the field and getting sales for the team.

I: Are you a part of any networking organizations?

LB: I am very passionate about being part of networking organizations. Because I’m in sales, it’s a great way to build a strong pipeline for our branch. I am a part of the Young Professionals Network, where I have been on the board for the last 4 years, and served as the 2016 President. I have closed over 20 transactions from relationships I’ve made in this organization, and I’ve found many great local companies to give my business to. In addition to the Young Professionals Network, I’m a part of the Women Council of Realtors and the Tacoma Professionals.

I: What are a couple things you have learned from Michael Fornerette?

LB: Michael is extremely passionate about his people and his job. He inspires me to always fight for what’s important. When I first came to Guild I was in operations and I was pretty comfortable, so I thought I was just going to stay in operations because I was good at it. Michael suggested that I try sales because I had a knack for connecting with other people. I’m so glad that I did go into sales because I am always learning, and I enjoy it more than I ever could have imagined. I’m so thankful that Michael believed in me and continues to encourage me to explore new boundaries. I’m also a part of his business coaching, where we meet every other week to read leadership books, review work, and talk about company goals.

I: What are your professional goals for the next 1-3 years?

LB: A big goal I have in the next year is to make it to Guild’s President’s Club. The President’s Club is made up of high producers who reach a certain number of purchase transactions and/or reach a certain revenue. Winners go an all-expenses paid trip to a tropical location and get the opportunity to spend time with Guild’s owners and other high producers. To get to the President’s Club I would like to spend this next year growing my team to ramp up to hitting the President’s Club goals!

I: What are your hobbies outside of Guild?

LB: Well I’m getting married in April so that’s been taking a lot of time! My fiancé and I also have season tickets for the Seattle Sounders, so we like to go up and spend a day in Seattle and catch a Sounders game. I also spend a lot of time with my 3 year old lab/border collie mix named Manny. My fiancé and I enjoy networking inside and outside of work, so we also spend a lot of time with friends on the weekends!
