Guild Employee Spotlight – Jasmyn Jefferson
Interviewer: What is your position?
Jasmyn Jefferson: I am a loan officer assistant for John Cassels team at Guild Mortgage Tacoma.
I: When did you start working at Guild?
JJ: Before I worked at Guild Mortgage, I was in title and escrow for two different companies. I’ve always loved the real estate industry, but that side of the business wasn’t for me. So I transitioned to mortgage, and I finally feel like I’ve found what’s best for me.
I: What’s your favorite part about your job?
JJ: I really enjoy that I get to be a part of this big milestone for families. A home is the largest investment a family will make, so helping them close on the deal is so cool to witness. Seeing the overwhelming happiness at closing, even if the file has been stressful, is such a wonderful thing to be a part of.
I: What’s your favorite part about Guild Mortgage as a business?
JJ: Two things come to mind. The first is the diversity within the company. We all come from different backgrounds of expertise and ethnicities, and we’re all working toward a common goal. It really feels like a family here, and most of the time doesn’t even feel like work! The second is all the tools Guild provides its employees. The management tools they train us with help make our jobs as easy and seamless as possible. This helps us effectively communicate with clients and makes it easy to hand hold for first time home buyers.
I: What is your advice for home buyers?
JJ: My advice for first time home buyers and repeat buyers alike is to be organized, communicative, and ask any questions you have. When buyers are disorganized, it delays the loan and makes it a harder process for everyone involved. I feel like a lot of buyers want to ask questions but feel like they are silly and don’t ask them. As you loan officers, we are here to help you through the process, so any question you have, we are happy to help with!
I: What do you like to do outside of work?
JJ: When I’m not at Guild, I do photography and film projects. I’m also really into fitness and health. I ran track and played fast pitch in high school, and I do some long distance running for fun.
